What I'm reading right now is Nicholson Baker's The Mezzanine.

Professor Nafisi's book is a gem -- a beautifully written piece of literature on the importance of literature. She writes about why great novels matter, and she does so with passion, grace, and conviction, and the book explains better than anything I've read recently why the best literature is a moral enterprise even when few (or no) characters contained in a novel are (going by whatever you want to qualify the word) moral. Reading Lolita in Tehran is the best thing I've read since The Lovely Bones. So read it. You will like it.
