- Ekaterina is a sustained and loving tribute to Lolita and Nabokovia (the faraway land from the first paragraph echoes Zembla, from whence references bloom everywhere). It's a delightful novel -- funny and erudite, and with warm and memorable characters, and full of the most charming ghosts in literature since Robertson Davies.
