There were window boxes filled with bright pink flowers and drips of dark green ivy. Over one of the window boxes a Monarch butterfly hovered. Two Monarch butterflies. He thought of a photograph he had once seen of Vladimir Nabokov running with his butterfly net. He thought of Lolita.
